Smokey eyes are often extremely dramatic, however, they’ll even be nice for daytime too — it all depends on what colours you decide on for your look and the way abundant you pack them on. you’ll even begin with a natural smokey eye throughout the day and simply add a darker color on your outer V to form it additional dramatic for nighttime!
Step 1: Choose a good concealer or primer.
Apply an eye primer to your entire lid and highlight that portion.
You can use a colorless eye primer (like Urban Decay Primer Potion) or for extremely dramatic black smokey eyes, you’ll use a black base on your lower lid (like Mackintosh Paint Pot in “Blackground”)
Step 2: Apply the lightest eyeshadow as a wash .
Apply a neutral shade everywhere your lids right up to the brow. e.g. almond colour or “Brulé” (soft creamy-beige)
Step 3: Apply the medium shade.
Apply the medium eye shadow color to the middle to outer a part of your lower lid. This medium color can facilitate transition the darkest color with the lightest color you’ve got as a wash. e.g. “Copperplate” (matte mid-tone gray),
Step 4: Apply a dark shade.
Use a blending brush (like mackintosh 217) to use the darkest eye shadow color on your outer V. mix it out on your crease. e.g. “Black Tied” (black with silver sparkle).
Step 5: Blend it all.
Apply a lot of the lightest eye shadow on your highlight space to bring out your brow bone.Also pat a lot of of the lightest color on your inner corner using a dense brush, like mac 239
Step 6: Line your upper lash line
For a more dramatic look, use a black liquid or gel liner and wing out the ends.
If you’re going for a daytime smokey eye, use a brown color to create your line.
Step 7: Highlight and line the lower lash line.
Using a tiny angled brush, devour some more of the darkest color and gently apply it on your outer to center lower lash line.
Then line your lower line with a black pencil if you’re going for a dramatic smokey eye.
Otherwise, use a brown pencil for a daytime look
Step 8: Finish off with mascara.
Curl your lashes and apply mascara, and you’re done. Two coats of a volumizing mascara should be sufficient.
